The kit includes a solid aluminum spacer that goes in the front struts like this, During the disassembly I noticed that the stock location has the axles aiming rearwards and this kit will get the axles just about directly in line with the front diff and hubs. This kit kicks the front knuckle/hubs forwards 1.5". I have the front suspension just about out, I need to borrow a cutting torch for the A-arm bushing bolts, typical, LOL Here is the front lift components and the diff drop brackets, While I have the VC off I will also check the valve lash etc and replace the leaky VC gaskets.Well I promised to post up pictures of the 4.5" lift I am installing in my 98' Sidekick. I plan on doing a timing belt/tensioner/waterpump/cover this weekend, there is 110K miles on the ticker and I am only assuming the belt had been done when due as there is 2 missing cover screws. Paved roads are no problem at all, smooth driving and handles as good without the sway than the stockie with the sway. I didnt install the sway bar and the handling is fine without it, the trail manners are very nice and washouts and gullies are easily navigated with the amount of rear flex and front drop. There is 16+ inches between the frame and the ground running the ProComp 31" MTR's. The 4dr brakes are awesome and the Monstaliner bedliner is easy to clean and tough as nails! The suspension is working flawlessly, I did just notice the rear drivers side shock has started to leak in the past few days, not too good(though they are just monroe sensatracs). I have about 800 miles on the lift kit and vehicle rebuild. It would be cool to see some pictures of your ride in action on the trail somewhere that you do Off-Roading. Just my opinion but R&P swap was the best option for getting power back with larger tires. Trust me, I looked around for over a year for the 5.83's I have, got them used. But this seems to be the only place that has R&P for sale that are new. I must admit I have no information other than that I found this link through the local Suzuki club website here in Iceland (my home country). I am searching for a reasonable priced Grand Vitara XL7 steel front first to install the frond R&P in.īut might I point out a place you can purchase 5.72 R&P at: ![]() I do have front and rear 5.83's with lockers installed in 3rd members waiting to go in. Off Road I do use Lo-Range allot but can cruise up to almost 35 MPH in Lo witch works fine for me at least, meaning less shifting from Lo to Hi. ![]() It has a total lift of 5.5" (3.5" suspension + 2" Body) Old Man Emu, Rocky Road and Altered Ego parts. I run 33" on my Sidekick Sport with the stock 5.12 R&P with the 4spd Auto (1.8L engine) and it is doing fine aside from highway passing with a headwind. I gotta get some of that stuff you use on your frame to clean it up and protect from rust. The effort and time you put into your vehicle really shows and I am sure you must thoroughly enjoy your ride a hole lot more now. I have the rear Super Flex setup on my 5 door Sidekick Sport and sort of wish the 4.5" kit would have fit the Sport. The Altered Ego parts are nice and seem to really work well plus they have great service.
